Welcome to "Presley on Purpose," where we dive into the real, unfiltered experiences of life that shape us. I'm Adyna K. Pressley, and today, I'm sharing my story and the reasons behind launching this podcast. If you’ve ever felt lost or unsure about your next steps, this post is for you. I promise to provide insights that resonate with anyone seeking purpose, healing, and reinvention in their own lives.

The Spark: Why I Started "Presley on Purpose"

In my journey, I often heard people say, "Adyna, you have so much wisdom to share." Initially, I brushed it off, questioning whether I had anything valuable to say. But after reflecting on my life experiences, especially the challenges I faced in my career, I realized I had stories worth telling. This podcast became a platform for sharing those stories and connecting with others who might feel the same way.

Discovering My True Path

It all started with a significant life change: getting laid off after 34 years in the financial sector. I was a vice president of operations, and I loved my job for the first 30 years. However, the last four years were challenging, filled with changes that left me frustrated and unfulfilled. My passion for my work faded, and I knew deep down that it was time for a change.

A Turning Point

When I found myself laid off, I wasn’t angry. Instead, I saw it as a blessing in disguise. I had been considering retirement and the universe had nudged me in that direction. This pivotal moment allowed me to reflect on what I truly wanted from life. I discovered that I wanted to travel, start my own business, and ultimately give back to my community.

Finding Purpose in Adversity

In the midst of my transition, I had the incredible opportunity to share my story on Oprah's podcast. Writing in about my experiences, I never expected to get a response, but I did. This experience not only validated my journey but also reignited my passion for storytelling.

Creating Change

My podcast is about more than just my story; it’s about empowering others. I want to inspire my listeners to embrace change and recognize their potential, especially my sisters in the workforce. Many women, particularly Black women, are starting businesses and reclaiming their power. I believe that sharing knowledge and mentorship can help uplift others on their journeys.
